Construction on Shanghai Disney Resort‘s third themed hotel is well underway, with the major structure of the building now completed.上海品茶工作室

The installation of the new hotel’s final primary steel beam took place this morning (15 January), marking the completion of the structural phase of construction and laying the groundwork for the upcoming interior development.

One of the Chinese resort‘s major expansion projects, the nine-floor deluxe hotel has 400 rooms and suites and is located close to the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.

It’s inspired by Shanghai’s early 20th-century architectural legacy, designed and decorated in the Art Nouveau style. It will, of course, be “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese”, Shanghai Disney said in a press release.

The latest hotel at Shanghai Disney Resort is adjacent to the shores of Wishing Star Lake and will provide brilliant views of Shanghai Disneyland.

Upon completion, the new hotel will join the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel at the resort.

Since opening in June 2016, Shanghai Disneyland has been expanded twice, first in April 2018 when its Toy Story Land debuted, and then in December 2023 with the new Zootopia-themed land.上海养生网

Joe Schott, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney, told blooloop last year: “We have to remember that this is the first and only Zootopia land in the world.

“It’s obviously a living, breathing experience; we wanted to immerse guests into the build for the very first time爱上海419. They can expect to experience the world of animals as they saw in the movie and actually walk amongst those animals brought to life.”
